Course
The Good News English Course is a teach-yourself English course for absolute beginners, both young and old.
It is produced by Christian professionals and is absolutely free.
Designed primarily for beginners of English, and leading on to upper intermediate levels of proficiency,
the course is based on a modern English version of the most translated bestseller of all times – the Bible.
It aims to develop all the language skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening.
- The Course contains free online educational material, which may be downloaded and used off-line.
- Its simple, easy-to-follow lessons are voiced by both British and American speakers.
- The Course contains Bible stories and Christian songs and is divided into two levels.
Part 1 of each level consists of six booklets. A list of vocabulary is
included in each lesson, and the student is encouraged to learn the words in the context they are used.
- Each level starts with a Word Building section where pronunciation of alphabets and words are taught
and also has a Work Book which contains rules of English grammar.
All the grammar exercises have answer keys which enable the student to mark his/her own work and assess his/her own progress.
- Part 2 of each level is an English-only section where the sound files may be used interactively with the corresponding text files.
- The text files have been produced in PDF format and the sound files are
now in MP3 format
making them accessible on most personal computers.
- The Course is useful for TEFL and ESL teaching.
